Class Excursion

Yesterday, my class went for a learning journey to the Civil Defense Heritage Gallery. I had been looking forward to the trip. However, it was postponed due to H1N1. Fortunately, the H1N1 alert went from Orange to Yellow and the school decided to go ahead with the trip.

This is a fire engine in the past.

I felt excited when I woke up in the morning but the trip only took place in the late afternoon, after 5 periods of Chinese lessons and recess. During recess, the bus came. I panicked because I was still munching my chips so I gobbled my food up.

Next we queued up to board the bus. Unfortunately, I had to sit with Darren, whom was not my favourite classmate! Surprisingly, he behaved well during the journey.

When we reached our destination, we saw fire engines from the past and present. We even got to go inside theĀ  fire engine! I learned how dogs helped the firemen rescue people trapped under rubble. There were many interesting exhibits. My favourite was the one where I pressed a red button, turned the fire hydrant and water came spraying on our hands.

The trip was educational. Time passed with a blink of an eye. Soon, we had to leave. Each of us received a souvenier book. There were still many exhibits that I have not explore. I hoped to make another trip to the gallery in the near future.

When we reached school we were famished and tired. That night, I gobbled up my dinner as well.
